When I established this website, I made it a habit to publicly acknowledge how I experience God’s goodness in my life each week. This particular series never received many comments; nonetheless, it remains the foundation for this digital platform.
2014. I started this website shortly after quitting a job that was a dead end for me. I was fresh out of graduate school, and I had so many hopes and dreams. 2014. That year had its share of disappointments including, but not limited to, the death of my maternal grandfather. Yet, God in His wisdom made me take out a sheet of paper and call my best friend/sister. On the day I resigned from that job, we sat in our respective homes, on the phone, and listed everything we could thank God for— life, healing, strength, provision, and good things to come.
And blessings came— some overnight and some years and years later. Some of those blessings made life busier and pulled me away from this website. Away from my written gratitude lists. Yes, I gave God thanks aloud but there’s something about putting it on paper.
2020 is here. This is a year of God’s restorative and renewing power transforming my life. This is a year where I want to get back to saying thank you publicly.
God—thank you for this opportunity.
Thank you for the favor you’re showing me in my career journey.
Thank you for the lessons you’re teaching me through your word.
Thank you for my growing family.
Thank you for the body of Christ and for giving me brothers and sisters all over the world.
Thank you Lord for your patience and steadfast love.
Thank you God for your forgiveness.
Thank you God for the ministry of reconciliation.
Thank you God for your presence.
Thank you God for your goodness to all of creation.
I look forward to blessing your name, forever.
